There is an Exchange...

"Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.“
Matthew 11:28-30

With God, there is always an exchange. We come to Jesus weary and heavy burdened. And we leave refreshed, eased, and with new strength.

All we have to do is come to him first. Jesus asks: "Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden?“ What is your answer to this question? What does your heart say? If your answer is YES, Jesus offers you: "Then come to me.“ He’s already there, waiting for you, ready for you. What is hindering you from coming to him first?
He says that he will refresh your life, for he is your oasis. Isn’t that wonderful? You don’t have to figure it out all by yourself. You don’t have to stay in dry and thirsty land. He wants to refresh your life and he is your oasis. Imagine a picture of yourself wandering through the dessert, feeling weak of the heat, looking for an oasis to rest, drink some water, and gain new strength. This is what Jesus wants to be for you!

How does this work? The Bible says that you have to simply join your life with Jesus. So how do you join your life with Jesus? Stay close to him. Talk to him. Read his word. Be honest. Listen to him. Enjoy his presence. In each and every situation of your daily life, as often as you can. Nothing is too big for him, nothing is too small for him.

If you’re carrying a heavy burden, know that you’re not supposed to carry that. It’s not your burden. You’re only supposed to carry what God has defined for you to carry. And Jesus says that all he requires of you will be pleasant and easy to bear. How good is that?

Are you ready for the exchange? Come to Jesus, join your life with his life. Leave your burden at his feet. Talk your heart out every minute, every second of your life. And receive refreshment and ease! He loves you.

Stay encouraged and blessed and have fun!
