"Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me." Matthew 11:29 TPT It may seem like we've been pretty silent for a bit, yet there's really quite a bit going on over here. Like most of you, and most of the world, we've been finding a new normal so to speak these days. So many people are experiencing difficult seasons, but it's also been a time to begin anew. Have you been able to see it, sense it? What has the Lord been speaking to your heart during this season? Continuously, the Lord has been reminding me that it's when we are at rest in our own efforts that the most will happen. Rest is more than just taking a nap, or getting good sleep. Rest is also trust. When we lean back and let go, that is rest, and also complete trust. It's quite a different perspective from the world's work ethic and drive. Isn't it amazing how God had in mind that we were to rest first, and trust Him? He wanted us to be able to fully rely and lean on Him. When we begin to do things in our own strength it can be completely exhausting, draining and lead to burn out. We don't want that, and we do want to be abundant and full of life. You know what I'm talking about right? When something starts to weigh you down and it's so heavy, but you just keep going? What happens? You want to quit. Whether you're in a forced rest from work, or you're waking up to the need for rest, don't wait until you have no choice, embrace it. It can bring so much healing. Did you know that the body does most of it's healing when it's at rest? That goes for the mind too. When we get quiet before the Lord, we can hear clearer, and connect with Him - our very life source and provider. Don't let the world confuse you with go, go, go and push, push, push. Take time to slow down, catch your breath and wait on Him. You will be so glad you did. I know I have. Currently, we're in a new season, a new home and the unpacking, painting, cleaning and settling will take some time. Instead of pushing myself too hard, I'm going at a good pace so I can enjoy it at the same time. I'm so thankful the Lord has constantly been giving prompts, and my desire is to continue to respond to those. I pray you hear those prompts and make the point to respond too. You can turn your rest into a reset, a new thing. You will be made new as you behold Him. MISTY LEA CHLADEK |
