"What a God you are! Your path for me has been perfect! All your promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you! You are the wrap-around God giving grace to me." Psalm 18:30 TPT I don't know about you, but I can say that there have been many times in my life that my words didn't sound anything like David's did there. I wasn't thanking God for keeping every promise, when I couldn't see it. I wasn't seeing the perfect path, even when I was truly on it. God always has our best at heart. He's a loving Father, a true and kind gracious Father who loves his children. He is also just and fair and righteous. Do you see where David says there that those that turn to Him, to hide themselves in Him find that He is their ultimate secure shelter from the storm? All throughout scripture it reads that God is calling us to Him, saying come to me. He will restore and refresh and keep us safe in Him. He is so much more than just someone who hands out gifts and sits and watches. He is so ever involved in every tiny aspect of our lives and closer than you can imagine. He desires relationship with us, to really know Him. I'm sure as David was speaking to the Lord, it was through the lens of this friendship with God. He could then see in this lens God's rich and deep love and how each moment that He walked He was not alone, and God was fulfilling all of His word, because that is who He is. He IS faithful and He IS good. Through this new lens we can also see the perfect path we've been walking on, and see God's promises fulfilled and all He has done. This lens is not just love, it's His heart. When you see and can feel His heart for you, all the promises that He's given and all the hopes that have seemed unfilled begin to melt into an eternal picture. As you begin this year, I encourage you as you set out to create and make new and beautiful things, partner with Him. Spend time with Him to know His heart and create with Him, and see what you do become a reflection of your relationship with Him. Surrender the promises that appear unfulfilled and any disappointment and ask for new vision, a new way of seeing that will refresh your heart and give you fresh hope and watch your lens change. "Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me." Matthew 11:29 TPT Misty L.
