He Says to Come...

​There is a message that God has placed in my heart for several years.  I don't share it everyday, but it burns in my heart.  

Beginning back in the fall of 2009, after our move from Iowa and in a very difficult season, there was a lot of time to spend with the Lord.  He began to increase the hunger I'd had for Him, where I didn't want much else.  Everywhere I turned it seemed in the Word that year all I saw was, "Come to me."  I read it all through the Old Testament, which I have to admit I'd not really seen that before.  I'd always pictured Jesus saying these words, but here I was reading over and over the God of the entire universe with so much love stating even before Jesus came to earth, "Come to me."  "Know me."  

The Lord desires so much to be known by us, and to have a relationship with Him.  He is so incredibly patient, so incredibly kind and so generous in His time and attention.  He listens without judgement and wipes away our tears, strengthens us with His joy, changes our mourning to dancing, and gives us a new life, abundant life.  

The God that breathed upon the waters and created all things, His very spirit lives in us.  All eternity is a marvel, as we think about all the discoveries of who He is, and being side by side, hand in hand.  Isn't He amazing?  

Believe Him, believe every word He's ever spoken.  He is faithful to every one.  He is the most faithful, and remains so even when we aren't.  

Friend, I just want to encourage you today, as you get a few minutes alone with the Lord to wait on Him, and be done with your list of needs for just a bit.  Wait with expectancy of hearing Him, with active listening.  Be filled with joy, experience His unbelievable love begin to fill your heart.
