Genesis 32 to 35 Even when you receive amazing promises about your purpose, your business, your ministry like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did, remember your journey will not be without opposition from the enemy or without trials. It is so important to understand the season you are in, being prepared to carry the weight of your calling for His Glory. Jacob left his uncle Laban with wives, servants and loads of livestock, in those days that was their wealth and he was a very wealthy man. In working hard for Laban, Yahovah / God blessed the work of his hands and he then was instructed to return to his homeland. He was so wealthy that he was prepared to offer his brother Esau, who he feared meeting, 550 different types of animals as a peace offering from goats, to rams to camels to cows, bulls and lots more. He had so much that even when Esau told him not to worry Jacob insisted and said: "Please take my blessing that is brought to you BECAUSE Elohim / God has FAVOURED me and BECAUSE I have ALL I need. And he urged him and he took it."
Genesis 33V11: Jacob was an Entrepreneur, he first worked very hard and then left his Uncle Laban a very wealthy man but still had to work on his own business thereafter, livestock business and the calling with which Yahovah / God called him. Now let us look at what happened when Jacob was instructed to go back to his family. Onroute home with his family and blessings he was fearing for his life and that of his families because of his brother Esau. Esau was angry with Jacob because prior to Jacob being sent to his Uncle Laban, Jacob took Esau's birthright and blessing. Yahovah / God did say that Jacob would carry the blessing in the end. Now it is important to remember that like Jacob he was given promises from Yahovah / God but he was now facing a threat and it says he feared. He started planning in his own strength and split his family and livestock lest Esau destroyed all of them. This is what I found extremely powerful and it was the prayer he prays to Yahovah / God onroute home knowing his brother Esau was waiting for him. Genesis 32V8-14 Gen 32:8 and he said, “If Ěsaw comes to the one group and attacks it, then the other group which is left shall escape.” Gen 32:9 And Yaʽaqoḇ said, “O Elohim of my father Aḇraham and Elohim of my father Yitsḥaq, יהוה who said to me, ‘Return to your land and to your relatives, and I do good to you,’ Gen 32:10 “I do not deserve the least of all the kind acts and all the truth which You have shown Your servant, for I passed over this Yardĕn with my staff, and now I have become two groups. Gen 32:11 “Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Ěsaw, for I fear him, lest he come and shall smite me and the mother with the children. Gen 32:12 “For You said, ‘I shall certainly do good to you, and shall make your seed as the sand of the sea, which are too numerous to count.’ ” Gen 32:13 And he spent the night there, and took what came to his hand as a present for Ěsaw his brother – Gen 32:14 two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams... Gen 32:9 And Yaʽaqoḇ said, “O Elohim of my father Aḇraham and Elohim of my father Yitsḥaq, יהוה who said to me, ‘Return to your land and to your relatives, and I do good to you,’ ***He prays to Elohim / God and is saying that he is obedient in what he is doing. Abba Father might ask you to do something that is radical, out of the box and not everyone, even believers, will be on board because they did not hear the instruction but be obedient in faith. Gen 32:10 “I do not deserve the least of all the kind acts and all the truth which You have shown Your servant, for I passed over this Yardĕn with my staff, and now I have become two groups. ***He is fearing for his life but glorifies Yahovah / God and shows gratitude. Gen 32:11 “Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Ěsaw, for I fear him, lest he come and shall smite me and the mother with the children. Gen 32:12 “For You said, ‘I shall certainly do good to you, and shall make your seed as the sand of the sea, which are too numerous to count.’ ” ***He then reminds Yahovah / God of His promises and this is key, if Master Yeshua / Jesus has given you promises you must hold on to them even in the face of opposition and trial. Stand firm in faith and gratitude and always be prayerful. Hope in the promises He has given you, and don't give up. Remember he worked 20 years for Laban and then was released, don't be impatient for the promises to be fulfilled but let Elohim do the good work in you and remain hopeful that He is faithful to fulfill all He has promised. Don't give up when you don't see something working in the first year of your business etc, be patient, positive and persistent. Be obedient as He instructs and shows you, even if it is scary. Shalom and blessings! GUEST BLOGGER - JANINE BOUWERAs far as I can remember I have always loved to draw, paint and get creative. I’m convinced I was born with a paintbrush in my hand. Art was dormant in my life for a season and a reason but I am so excited that I have been led to be creative again. I look forward to my future being covered in buckets of color and lots of paint. My heart is to bring Heaven down to canvas.
